Essential Federal Credit Union was honored to sponsor the annual Sylvia’s Toys for Christmas donation event. Beginning on November 27th, donation bins were placed in all of Essential’s branch lobbies as well as their operations center. Members, employees, and friends in the community dropped off toys for children in need of a little extra Christmas cheer. Employees were encouraged to donate with a friendly competition to determine who could fill their bins the fastest, and the result has been inspiring.
Essential’s Community Development Manager, Elisabeth Patrick, said: “We were honored to participate in Sylvia’s Toys for Christmas and overwhelmed by the generosity of Essential employees and our community.”
In a grand finale of sorts, Essential hosted a toy drop off drive thru event at their Towne Center location on December 14th. Members of the community were encouraged to stop by and drop off a gift(s) valued between $10-$20 for children aged 0-12. As the cars rolled in, Essential provided a swag bag for all donors as a thank you for their community support.
Essential is grateful to be a part of such a wonderful program and to have worked alongside Sylvia Weatherspoon, WBRZ, and St. Vincent de Paul during this holiday season. All toys donated will be given to needy children in the community via St. Vincent de Paul for Christmas.
